5. Don’t Distract Them
Your e-commerce site has one goal: To make sales. When you use it to generate advertising dollars or to tell your brand’s story, you’re missing the point.
Leave that information in other links and tabs. If customers want to know, they’ll look for it. That extra information is getting in the way of your sale and keeping you from making a purchase.
Avoid pop-ups asking for additional information. You can ask them to opt-in when they check out instead. Distracting people from making a purchase and annoying them could drive them away.
Don’t lead them to abandon their cart. Once they’re in the mode for purchasing, leave them alone.
6. Keep Reviews Visible
One of the best tools for buyers looking for a product they’ve never purchased before are user review. Given that 84% of buyers trust online reviews as much as they do a recommendation from a friend, they matter a lot. It can be the deciding factor in closing a deal.
If buyers can hear from just one last person recommending products before they buy, it could close the sale. Reviews and testimonials also make your customers feel like they’re a part of your brand.
Keep product-specific reviews directly under product descriptions. If you don’t have a lot of different products, you can have one page for your reviews. However, seeing a testimonial right underneath your products can be powerful.
